Most often, your handwriting cannot be better than the pen you use. For good handwriting, your pen must offer a comfortable grip. Also, it needs to have quality ink; you don’t want to write something important and discover it has faded by the next day.
The following list includes the best pens that are suited for multiple purposes; drawing, writing, or creating checklists. Consider the options below.
Paper Mate Flair Felt Tip Pens
“Unlike my ex, Papermate kept its word with these pens. Now you can write rage poems about your ex without having to worrying about the pen bleeding through to the next page like the hangover you’ll have tomorrow to remind you that you’re all alone.” — Angelia
Best Seller Colored Pens
“I really like these pens a lot! I got them for my planner and they write super nice! They don’t bleed through the paper, which is what I was worried about, so I’m very happy about that.” — Customer
Pilot G2 Premium Gel Ink Pen
“This is my G205. There are many like it but this one is mine. My G205 is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my G205 is useless. Without my G205 I am useless. I must use my G205 true. I must write neater than my colleague who is trying to write neater than me. I must use my G205 before my colleague uses my G205. Before God I swear this creed: my G205 and myself are commanders of the paper, we are the masters of the office, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no other colleague using the G205, but peace. Amen.” — Customer
Z-Grip Ballpoint Retractable Pen
“I bought these to replace another great brand that unfortunately leaked and disappointed me, I had been using them for a long time I like them because they were Gel, well at work on some surfaces this doesn’t work because they smear but the biggest kicker is that recently they would leak, anyway I remember using Zebra pens before and was excited to find them here, so now this will be my repeat buy because I’m giving them away at work all the time.” — Emmy
Sharpie S·Gel | Gel Pen
“Feels high quality. Wonderful ink lay down. Quick drying….It’s my new favorite pen.”
BIC Round Stic Xtra Life Ballpoint Pen
“This is a review of BIC Round Stic Xtra Life Ballpoint Pen, Medium Point (1.0mm), Black, 36-Count. I’ve been using this product for years and love it. They are easy to write with and the price is good. The pens are comfortable in my hand. I have arthritis in my hands and writing used to trigger pain in my hands. I don’t get pain in my hands with these pens. I’ve bought the blue ink pens and the black ink pens. Both are good. I prefer the black for adding entries in my check book because I find it easier to read.” — Katherine
Amazon Basics Retractable Ballpoint Pen
“When I bought these, I wasn’t sure that I was going to like them. They were very inexpensive and a store brand – but I love them! They write SO smoothly and they are comfortable to hold with their rubberized surface and compact size. I have not used any other color than blue, but I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a good and reliable pen. I think of myself as a pen snob and I think these are going to go amongst my favorite pens from now on.” — Sheri
PILOT G2 Fashion Collection Gel Pens
“Everyone likes to steal the standard G2 pens from me, so this design will make them stand out as the guilty one. These are my favorite pens and love the price I found these at.” — Customer
Amazon Basics Retractable Ballpoint Pen
“11 out of 10! By far the best pen I have ever used, barely smears yet feels as smooth as a gel pen. I’m left handed and I always liked gel pens for how smooth they feel but they would always smear all over my paper, making them unusable for school work or even just general use. These are amazing, they have a carbon fiber like rubbery feel to them all over giving you a good yet basic grip, and they come in blue or black ink. For the money it’s an amazing deal in my opinion. Just one thing to note, if you just wrote something and like 1-2 seconds later you rub the text you wrote it WILL smear, but it dries really quick! Just be careful if your like me and are always writing over your previous text for corrections.” — Raymond G.
Shuttle Art Black Gel Pens
“I’m an artist, originally looking for cheap alternatives of the pentel one this must be an off brand of. It works quite literally the same, it was so hard to tell the different between the two pens. Completely recommend, the quality is just amazing, works well with watercolor and doesn’t bleed. The only different is that the ink this uses has a shine whereas the pentel one is matte. But you won’t notice it, and it’s quite a nice look tbh. I completely recommend this as it was such a good value and using this makes me so happy.” — Tamara
