“I regularly turn around at a hilltop clearing, but today I overshot the clearing by 5 feet and my wife’s car dropped into foot-deep snow. A flatter shovel would have worked best, so I simply popped off the blade and used the handle to poke the ice until it broke into scoop-able chunks. I can’t imagine a better shovel design. We used this to setup our tent platform in 2 feet of snow—had to clear enough to stake the tent out, while leaving enough for insulation (yes, I forgot the snow anchors). Took about thirty minutes and we had our 6-person tent set up with a porch and stairs.
