- There is one way to homeschool
- Children between 6-18 of age must be in school
- You MUST notify your local school district of your intentions
Requirements:
- There are NO teacher qualifications
- There are NO state mandated subjects
- There ARE required assessments or testing
- There are NO immunization requirements
How to Homeschool in Oregon
- Notify the Education Service District (ESD) with a one-time notice of intent to homeschool within 10 days of starting homeschooling
- Include in the notice:
- Name of instructor
- Name of child
- Address
- Birth dates
- Name of school the child last attended or if the child has not attended school, the public school district where the child resides
- Have your child evaluated in grades 3, 5, 8, and 10 with a test approved by the State Board Education
