Umbrellas To Keep You Dry In Rainy Weather

by Shasha Onyx

A sudden change of weather is something that has caught me off guard many times. No one wants to go into a building while they are soaking wet – which is why an umbrella has become an essential accessory for me.

I find umbrellas to be versatile tools. They do not only protect against the rain but can also add a protective layer between you and those harmful UV rays of the sun. If you’re looking to protect yourself in any weather condition, then these umbrellas are the top options you should look at.

SY Compact Umbrella

“It’s hard to find a cute umbrella with a unique pattern that’s actually sturdy and won’t flip inside-out with strong gusts of wind. I live in a very windy city and this umbrella did the trick. It’s a decent size and it lets enough light shine through that you feel a little less dreary walking in the rain – the blue skies help with that too.”

“I left this on a bus shortly after purchasing it, and immediately purchased it again because it was a perfect umbrella for an unbeatable price.”

Rainbow Repel Travel Umbrella

“I recently had to throw away an umbrella I just bought a year because 2 tines had broke and when it opened, it was flat and flappy. So I looked around and saw this one and it had so many things going for it, that I bought it. When I opened it and used it for the first time, I liked that it was water repellent, had much stronger tines, had a thicker and sturdier pole, the grip was rubbery and easy to hold in the hand, and when you push the button to open it, it shoots right open and closed. It’s really nice and definitely worth the price so far!” — Candice

totes Signature Clear Bubble Umbrella

“This umbrella is great! Sturdy and just the right size for me and my 6 month old. It provides great coverage while allowing my 6 month old and I a view. While using it I can honestly say we did not get wet. Great purchase and worth the cost. Would definitely purchase again.” — Amazon Customer

LANBRELLA Umbrella

“I have owned many auto open/close umbrellas. Imagine my surprise when I opened this one to discover it is a full size umbrella. It is big enough to shield both me and my wife from the rain. As other people have said, this umbrella opens with great force. The first time I used it, I opened the car door enough to get the umbrella out and pressed the button and it pulled right out of my hand. The ribs are plenty heavy. The fabric is thinner than any umbrella I have ever owned. Only time will tell if this is a good thing. It’s only about one inch longer than the “mini” compact umbrellas I have owned.” — Amazon Customer

StrombergBrand Umbrella

“I myself love this umbrella. Inexpensive, and well made for travel umbrellas. My logic is that folding umbrellas are more complicated and so perhaps generally less sturdy, so I only use them for travel and backpacking. I find this umbrella well made and just bought another one (Black, so I bought it for rain and not for photography or multipurpose). The first one I bought was the solid White color which, understandably, is hard to find (so bought 2) – I use it as a light diffuser and wind blocker in certain outdoor photography (nice and safe for packing if you don’t need to mount it on something). It’s much cheaper in cost and vastly sturdier than the ones specifically for “photography” or in electronic section. It’s also definitely good enough for rain, but since some people have complained, I intend to be careful (close it a halfway) if it gets extremely windy.” — Amazon Customer

Yoobure Small Mini Umbrella

“This mini umbrella is very easy to carry. It is very small and it even fits in my pocket. The best thing about this mini umbrella is that it even comes with a case, which is really nice. In addition, the umbrella is good quality and this umbrella is definitely worth it!” — Luis

Siepasa Double Layer Inverted Umbrella

“The design of the umbrella is far beyond my expectation. First of all, the appearance of the umbrella is very beautiful and the small holes in the inside layer look like a circle of lace, very elegant. Secondly, the product’s double layers are not the glued double cloth as I originally thought. More specifically, there are two umbrellas compounded in one frame, more potent in wind protection and insulation. I was so excited to buy such a high-quality umbrella with this price.” — Amazon Customer

EEZ-Y Windproof Travel Umbrella

“When I received my EEZ-Y compact travel umbrella, I noticed it felt “professional”. The components were of good quality and it appeared to be well made. After a year in my backseat, I noticed that one of the spines on the umbrella would no longer fold, and it prevented the umbrella from completely collapsing so that it could be fastened closed. I had registered the umbrella within the first 30 days after purchasing it, so I emailed EEZ-Y customer service. They responded within minutes, even though it was in the evening. I explained the situation and sent a couple of photos to demonstrate. In less than a week, I received a brand-new replacement! Yea EEZ-Y!!” — Amazon Customer

Raintrend Umbrella

“When they say this is a large compact, they mean it. It is thicker and heavier than I expected (will not be able to fit in a purse but could fit in backpack). However, it is sturdy as well and withstands winds and gusts well. The look of it is nice–sleek black with a wooden handle. The plastic tip of mine, that covers the uppermost center tip of the umbrella when closed, has cracked and broken off, which seemed disappointingly quick since I haven’t been rough in transporting these around.” — Amazon Customer

Anntrue Travel Umbrellas

“This umbrella feels extremely sturdy and makes a great compact companion to carry around for you. I am certain it will last quite a awhile. The only thing I have to say is that as a larger person, it doesn’t give me as much coverage as I would like. However, that is more of my fault for not realizing by being so compact, the coverage will be less as well. I have given it to my wife who absolutely loves this model.” — Mike
