- Children between 6-17 of age must be in school
- You DO NOT need to notify your local school district
- There are NO teacher qualifications
- There ARE state mandated subjects
- There are NO required assessments or testing
- There are NO immunization requirements
How to Homeschool Under the Homeschool Statute
- Homeschooling in Illinois is treated as a private school
- Subjects must include:
a) Math
b) Language arts
c) Social sciences
d) Biological and physical sciences
e) Fine Arts
f) P.E.
- Instruction must be in English
