- There are two ways to homeschool:
- Non-accredited private school
- Satellite of a private school
- Children between 7-18 of age must be in school
- You DO need to notify your local school district for the first year only
- There are NO teacher qualifications
- There are NO state mandated subjects
- There are NO required assessments or testing
- There are NO immunization requirements
How to Homeschool as a Non-Accredited Private School
- Choose a name for your school and register it along with the address to the State Board of Education once when you start homeschooling
- Understand that you are now an official “private school” and will be treated as such
- Teachers must be “competent”
- Instruction needs to be at least 186 days
- Make a schedule
- Assess and test your child regularly
How to Homeschool as a Satellite of a Private School
- Enroll in a private school that accepts homeschooled students
- The private school you enroll with will supervise attendance and any other requirements
