Artificial Houseplants That Don’t Look Fake

by Shiloh Onyx

For some of us who lack the ability to keep and maintain real plants, or some of us who have allergies or have pets or who travel very often, artificial house plants offer a simple solution. People who don’t have a green thumb or simply don’t have the time can still bring greenery to their homes without having to worry about the plants dying.

Even for those homeowners whose houses offer little to no light can enhance their home decor with real-looking faux houseplants. While once frowned upon, it seems like faux plants have made their way back into the market and rightly so because the ones available on the market today look very real. You can check out the top real-looking faux houseplants below.

Winlyn Artificial Houseplants

“I absolutely am in love with these. Ideally, I wanted real plants, but the room I wanted to put them only has one window and the shelves for the plants were in the corners on the windowed wall. So I decided to go with artificial. These are just so classic (not glaringly artificial) and just the right size for my corner shelves. And they add a welcoming touch of greenery to the small room I put them in. They did require some fluffing after taking them out of the package, but they were packed really well with bubble wrap around the pots.” — Customer

Ficus Bush

“This bush has a very real look to it. I like the dark leaves and the natural wood trunks and it is very full. The basket is nice and decorative and I think it really makes a statement in my foyer. It’s so much better than what I used to have there that I am embarrassed now to think about it lol. I’d love a real plant but I seem to kill every plant I touch and I have a crazy cat who would probably eat it so this is the next best thing. Looking back at my order, I know I didn’t pay as much as it is listed for now, so I am not the best person to comment on the value for the money. I would recommend this though.” — Jean

Small Fake Plant

“I love my little fake plant so much. I do NOT have a green thumb but I seriously love flowers and plants in my home, so this is where I compromise. The big flat leaves are easy to dust with a microfiber cloth or damp paper towel. I recommend this for small spaces, for example; on an entry table or bookshelf. It arrived at my home in 1 day from ordering. I highly recommend this cute little fake plant.” — Courtney

Velener Long Leaf Houseplant

“I’m very picky when it comes to interior decor, especially from ordering online. However this was the perfect fit for a very modern conference room in the law firm I manage. Everyone loved it and it spruced it up beautifully as it’s the only plant we have in their. Thank you so much for this!” — Customer

Monstera Deliciosa

“I am so pleased with this purchase. I’ve ordered several artificial plants from different companies that cost way more and had to send them back bc they looked so fake and cheap. I regret not buying the two pack option. I love this plant so much. It’s everything!!! Looks real and the branches bend to your liking. I love this plant so much that I dug out a real plant, trashed it and inserted this one in the same soil! I will later add river rocks to the top of the soil.” — Customer

Snake Plant

“It is literally PERFECT and exactly what I was looking for! It came exactly as the pictures – even better! It looks SO REAL! We would have loved a real one, but our one year old son is getting into everything & this was the safest option! I love that you can adjust the height! It completes our living room and is the perfect width – skinny yet doesn’t look sparse and would recommend it to all our friends & family! No watering needed!!!! For $78 we will have it forever.” — David

 Triple Golden Dieffenbachia

“This artificial dieffenbachia looks terrific in my living room. The wooden pot survived shipping with no problem. The leaves on the plant just needed a little manipulation to “fluff” them out of their squashed packing state. It’s very realistic looking. The only thing I could wish is that it was a little taller, as I wanted to set it on the hearth and hide the fireplace behind it. Placed it on an inverted basket, and voila! Fireplace mostly hidden!” — Em

Boston Fern

“The reviews were all over the place. Some absolutely loved it . Some said it was smaller than advertised or it looked “fake”. I had just stained the front porch . I wanted ferns, but I didn’t want dirty water running all over the newly finished deck . I have two live ferns hanging from the Soffit at the edge of the porch, so I took a picture of them together. The artificial ones give me exactly the look I wanted without the mess!!” — Customer

Faux Sansevieria

“This artificial plant is virtually indistinguishable from a real version of this variety. This is the fifth one I’ve purchased for my home, which does not get a lot of direct sunlight for real plants. I’ve “potted” them in my own ceramic planters with moss on top. Completely pleased. And, I’m very picky about my home furnishings and would *not keep this product if it even had a whiff of artificiality.” — Robert

Faux Ivy Vine

“I love this plant product. Arrived quickly wrapped well and looks real. I’m at a point in my life where taking care of plants inside my home is difficult, but these plants are perfect for me. They look real and so I can have the beauty of real-looking plants without the drudgery of watering and the mess of soil spills. Thank you for a great product.” — Kate
