But there is no denying that style makes up a large part of the purchasing decision regardless of what kind of toaster you prefer. They sit on your countertop for years so you would want to buy one that suits your design and aesthetic. Modern-day toasters do more than just toast bread so you really get a complete breakfast cuisine. We have shortlisted a few of them below.

Amazon Basics 2 Slice Toaster

“I purchased this toaster to keep at my desk at work, which technically is not allowed. However, needing a better option than using the disgusting toaster in the break room that’s never cleaned, I decided to test my luck. This little toaster is small, quiet, and toasts anything from English muffins to bagels quickly and evenly. After I’m done using it, I can easily move it out of sight since the sides remain cool, and toss it back in the drawer once it’s completely cooled down. The bottom is also easy to slide out to remove crumbs, a feature unused with the break room toaster. Would highly recommend this product. Long live the contraband toaster.” — Marie Yelavich

CRUX 4-Slice Toaster

“Love this toaster! My other toasters seemed to take forever to get a nice brown toast. This toaster browns quickly and evenly. Even my 14-year old grandson commented on how quickly his bagel was done. Best toaster I’ve ever had. Highly recommend it. The only complaint, a very minor complaint, is that it’s difficult to see where the “browning” number is set. A white dot on the control would help.” — Customer

Elite Platinum Long Slot Toaster

“Personally I’ve been frustrated by wide pan bread not fitting into a normal toaster, haven’t you? This one will toast 4 slices of regular, and two wide style breads. The opening is also wider, so you could fit bagels etc. I liked the removable crumb tray for no spills. Bread pops up for easy removal, and best of all, you can heat up items you would not put inside a toaster.” — Customer

Hamilton Beach Toaster

“Works fine for a basic toaster. Like the frozen option b/c I keep my bread in the freezer, since I don’t use it that often. Handle a tiny bit stiff when pushing down, but there are worse flaws to be had in a product. Crumb tray is convenient.” — Customer

Chefman Slice Toaster

“My old toaster was something stereotypical 40 years ago, like an old photo. This new, probably modern, unit virtually has a brain and easy access. As you know, the old days were easy on sleepyheads, where you dropped in the bread, thin sliced, dropped the lever and waited for the pop. no choices. this is different, bagel friendly for one thing and variable, making the whole process fun.” — Hon Lee

Zwilling Enfinigy Cool Touch Toaster

“I searched high and low on multiple sites for a toaster that looked sleek, modern, simple to use, and doesn’t catch fire or break after a few uses. This one looks great, and had many great reviews (and only a few bad ones) so I decided to give it a try.I am so glad I did! It’s SUPER simple and easy to use. Plus, it toasts well and evenly. I use it to toast English muffins for breakfast every morning. Basically a perfect toast every time – no joke. Outside is toasty and inside the bread stays fresh and soft. It looks fabulous in my kitchen too. 10/10 would recommend!” — Customer

Oster Toaster

“This replaces a twenty year old 2-slice Oster that finally went kaput even after disassembly, thorough cleaning, and examination. Except for the blue lights, mechanically this new one isn’t very different, but aesthetically it’s superior. It comes in at the same price range as my old stainless Oster, but it’s so much more pleasing to the eye with its elegant retro-futuristic design. If it lasts as long as its predecessor I’ll be more than satisfied.” — Customer

Cuisinart Metal Classic Toaster

“It replaced one that quit browning. We like darker toast, and this new one has up to #6 on settings. One can insert frozen bread for there is a selection to indicate you are using frozen bread. A big thing for me, is that when the lever is depressed to begin toasting, it is securely in place. Some toasters in the past would release and have to be repressed. When the toast is done, a definite click can be heard. The lever can be raised slightly to retrieve toast that is shallower. Sounds like an ad, but I am so happy with something we use daily.” — Katrina Piper

Toaster with LED Display

“Discovered this toaster after a long search. Very pleased with this product ! It is the best one I have ever owned. Great features, even a countdown timer, and so far perfect toast and thick fluffy waffles every time.. A true five star product in my opinion.” — Customer

Cuisinart Plastic Toaster

“Here we go again. Every couple of years I find myself looking for a new toaster because I get tired of needing to flip over my eggo to toast both sides. Every toaster I have ever purchased (cheap or expensive) makes good toast in the beginning and then they get tired after a couple of years. So I read the reviews, both on the web and on Amazon. I was actually willing to purchase a commercial toaster just to get some longevity. I chose this toaster because frankly it rated number 1 on the web and it had a great price point. When I received it I promptly tested it with an english muffin and guess what, it toasted. Of course I knew that would happen. What I liked was how I could easily inspect the progress while it was browning my muffin. When I thought it was close I pushed the cancel button and the muffin popped up exactly how I like it. Who knew? It was evenly toasted and now I had a reference point for future darkness settings. It has a nice footprint and actually fits inside my toaster cabinet perfectly which is something I’ve had difficulty with in the past. It looks nice, it’s not expensive and it makes toast. Actually pretty good toast. My life is now complete!” — Customer
